RULLAGER MED REKORDDIMENSIONER
Ett par av de största rullager, som framställts vid Göteborgsverken, visas
å bilden här ovan. Som synes är det tvenne sfäriska rullager av ansenliga
dimensioner, nämligen d = 575, D = 860 och B = 180 mm. De här avbildade
lagren hava levererats till Amerika, där de skola användas i en rörkvarn.
Ett par lager av samma typ och med t. o. m. något större dimensioner hava
nyligen sänts till Tyskland.

A Few Words on the SKF Drawing Office,
its Work and Organization
In this article Mr Helmstein gives an outline of the
general drawing office at S K F, its various departments
and methods. The work comprises the preparing of
propositions for the application of ball and roller bearings to
various kinds of machines and appliances, the designing
of the bearings and tools for cages, tracing, blue-printing,
and so forth.
The author then shows how all designing work calls
for men with a thorough technical training and experience,
and a keen eye for the problems to be dealt with.
In the preparation of certain classes of drawings, as, for
instance, drawings of bearings or special application
designs, the greatest accuracy must be observed in relation
to the dimensions given on the working drawings.
The Costs Estimating Department calculates the prices
of special bearings and applications, these being based
on information from the factory and Costs Record
Department.
At the moment there are about 50,000 drawings in the
Gothenburg Office, and these are all filed in the
strongroom and registered as to numbers, recipients and types
of machines.
The actual mounting and installation af ball and roller
bearings is, in certain cases, supervised by the drawing
office.
The drawing office frequently works in collaboration
with the Sales Departments, particularly in the event of
special technical knowledge being required for the
preparation of quotations. It is obvious that this work is
somewhat comprehensive, as it frequently happens that the
office has to deal with problems submitted by the SKF
