conformity with the Swedish terminology. It should be observed that a Swedish "High School"
generally corresponds to an educational establishment of university rank. — "Lie." signifies
Licentiate, and corresponds to the final university degree (taken before the title of Doctor
can be gained). — A national, central State board or institution has, as a rule, the epithet
"Royal". — Some noteworthy changes in the titles etc., which have come about during the
printing of the work, have been inserted.
