The last work on which he was engaged before his death, is his
"Rise and Progress of the New Jerusalem Church in England, America,
and other parts," which was published in London in 1861. A full
list of his works is contained in the "Intellectual Repository" for
1835, pp. 420 and 421.
Mr. Hindmarsh died on March 2, 1835, in the seventh-sixth year
of his age.
NOTE 226.
RICHARD SHEARSMITH.
Richard Shearsmith, of Coldbath Fields, London, was a peruke
maker, and at his house Swedenborg lodged from July or August,
1771, until his death, on March 29, 1772 (Document 269, p. 577).
Mr. Hindmarsh,225 who, during his residence at 32 Clerkenwell Close,
from 1783 to 1793 employed Shearsmith in the way of his profession, and
consequently had a good opportunity of knowing him, says respecting
his character in the "Rise and Progress" (p. 21) : "Mr. Shearsmith
was not attached to any religions sect of professing Christians ; but
appeared to be a plain, simple, and upright man, assenting to the
religion of his country as he found it established, yet acknowledging
and respecting the good among other denominations, without mixing
with any of them. A character of this description was perhaps the
most suitable that Swedenborg could have selected for a landlord ;
and having no prejudices for or against any particular Society, or
any particular tenets of a Society, he was always ready candidly and
honestly to speak the truth, whenever called upon to answer questions
relative to his venerable aud illustrious lodger."
Mr. Noble says of Mr. Shearsmith (Document 270, p. 599), that
"he conversed with him in 1812," and that "he died a few years
afterwards, at about the age of eighty-four."

HENRY SERVANTÉ.
Mr. Noble, in recording the departure of Henry Servanté into
the spiritual world, says in the "Intellectual Repository" for 1816
and 1817 , p. 515, that "he was one of the last remaining individuals
who remembered the person of Swedenborg." He furnishes the
