For from the rude doors of that plaee there
stream-ed a light which blinded the gods that night, and
which has since flooded the world with its
efful-gence and penetrated into its remotest and most
bidden corners. Almost, as I stood there in the
gathering gloom of the Temple Courts, I could
hear the eeboes still fondly lingering in the
hovering air, of that song which put eternal youth into
the heart of the world, “Glory to God in the
high-est, and on earth peace, good will to men.”
