been rebuilt and deepened, thus enabling the export-goods from the Värmland forests to
be brought direct from the lake Vänern harbours to Gothenburg without transshipment.

Mölnbacka was a centre of the wood goods industry in Värmland at a very
early period, and factories for the manufacture were erected there even at the
beginning of the nineteenth century. These factories and the forest estates in connection
with them remained for a long time in private hands, however, the present
Möln-backa-Trysil Company not being established until the beginning of the seventies. The
Company’s capital at that date was 4,000,000 kronor, but this sum has been increased
on several occasions, so that it amounts at present to 13,889,000 kronor. During
the period that has elapsed since the starting of the firm, the incorporation of a
number of other enterprises, the erection of new factories and extensive purchases of
landed and other estates have greatly extended the companys sphere of activity, so
that, to day, it embraces as good as every branch of the wood goods industry.

Affiliated to the Mölnbacka-Trysil Company we have the Forshaga Sulphite C:o..
Ltd. (share capital: 4,500,000 kronor, with forest property and factories and the
Dcje-fors Potver- and Manufacturing Company, Ltd. (share capital: 800,000 kronor, which
is the owner of power works, waterfalls and manufactories. Both these firms belong
entirely to the Mölnbacka-Trysil C:o., which is also the holder of the majority of the
