The Ytterstfors Pulp Mill. The Luleå Pulp Mill.

A portion of these forests is within the Lapplandborder and contains trees
of all ages. Owing to the climatic condition the growth is not so rapid as in the
middle and south of Sweden and consequently the wood contains more heart and less
sap as compared to the wood from those parts. The company is making endeavours,
however, by means of the improvement of the soil and tqv the employment of a
scientific system of sylviculture, to increase the future supplies of timber from these
domains. In the earlier iron works domains, especially, where the old and very often
degenerated trees were taken some 50—100 years ago, there have now arisen beautiful,
valuable young and nicely matured trees of fine growth, from which a rich supply of
timber can be expected.

THE ORGANISATION.

The charge of the general management and care of the company’s business is in
the hands of the head office in Stockholm.

In general each of the various industrial enterprises has its own local office
although in certain cases some connected mills are in the charge of a district manager.
For the purpose of superintending the technical care and securing the most up-to-date
way of running the saw mills plant, the company has appointed a special saw mills inspector.

The company’s forest domains are in charge of a chief forester, who is connected
to the head office in Stockholm. The forest domains are divided into 2 administrations,
each one with a special manager, living at resp. Luleå and Alfsbyn. Each of these
main administrations is subdivided into a number of subordinate forest districtadmi
nistrations.

The share capital of the company is 32,500,000 kronor. The board of directors
consists of 7 persons and is juridically located at Byske in the district of Westerbotten.
