EXTRACTS OF PROCEEDINGS, 1913.
Council Meeting, Dec. 5, 1912.
The Secretary reported that Mr. Söderström of Warroad,
Minn., had accepted the invitation to become
Corresponding Secretary, and the compensation for his work was
fixed.
The chairman, the secretary and the treasurer were
elected a committee to select three suitable persons to
solicit new members, their commission being the same as
that granted to Mr, Söderström.
It was moved that the annual meeting shall be held on
Nov, 6, every year, or as near that date as practicable.
The secretary was elected librarian for the year.
Council Meeting, February 4, 1913,
It was ordered that the Council invite Dr* Leach,
secretary of the Amenean-Scandinavian Foundation, to deliver
a lecture under the auspices of the Society in connection
with the Scandinavian Exhibition.
Moved that we accept the invitation of Dr, Henry G.
Leach to affiliate with the American-Scandinavian Society
by paying $1 a year for each member. Our members
thereby should become associate members of the
American-Scandinavian Society and receive the bimonthly Review
of the latter organization* The secretary was instructed
to obtain the votes of the absent members of the Council*
The publication committee was ordered to issue 1,000
copies of the Year Book for 1911-1913,
The following were elected chairmen of the various
committees:

Publication; 0, G, Wallenius.
Finance: Gustaf Hallbom.
Relation: D, Nyvall,
