REPORT OF THE CHAIRMAN OF THE LIBRARY
COMMITTEE.
To the Swedish Historical Society of America-:
Not for some years has the Library Committee submitted
any forma] report. None has seemed necessary. The library
has been quietly increasing in number of volumes, until at
Present it contains 5001 items recorded in the accession book,
several hundred volumes yet to be accessioned and a large
collection of Swedish-American newspapers and other
periodicals. Nearly all of these books save been received as gifts,
from authors, from publishers, from other friends of the
Society in this country and in Sweden, among the last named
he-lng a number of public institutions. The forthcoming volume
°f the Society’s Year-Book will contain a statement of the
Librarian, with a list of the individuals and institutions that
