att upprätta hwad de icke kunnat förekomma. De weta

der-före gäller ock mitt inflytande,- då jag will att de skola

... In answer to the inquiry regarding passage to
Sweden in the Spring... I want to say that direct
passage to Sweden is hardly ever to be had, because Swedish
sea captains are seldom bound directly for home. Instead,
the Swedes usually go via Hamburg on German ships, of
which there is seldom any lack. The fare for every person,
board included, from here to Hamburg was $20 last
summer hut has now risen to $25. In the summer, at least,
steamers run regularly between Hamburg and Gothenburg,
and deck places have cost 10 Riksdaler. Now perhaps
the fare is higher...
By the way, seeing that we have happened to
communicate in love and friendship, I will mention that I have
not long ago perused my dear Brother’s printed “Advice
and Information for Emigrants." I am grateful for the
testimonial which there accompanies my name, but...
My dear Brother can surely now, with your knowledge of
conditions increased, Imagine how Swedish Immigrants
would have fared, if I had not, be it said without
self-praise. .. stood between them and a lot of others who
make their living out of the foolishness and inexperience
of the Immigrants... That I recommend the Erie Rail-
