Synonyms.

the posterior margin of the shell more or less distinct leaf-like appendages of the kind reproduced
in my fig. 4 of C. symmetrica.

First antenna: — E-bristle: According to G. W. MÜLLER this bristle is furnished
with „eine Doppelreihe von etwa 30 fast senkrecht abstehenden stabartigen, an der Spitze

schwach kolbig (oder
stempel-artig?) erweiterten Gebilden“.
In the specimens investigated
by me there were 27—30 of
tbese processes in eacli row;
they were of precisely the same
type as the corresponding
pro-cesses in C. hettacra. In otlier
respects too this antenna agreed
with the corresponding antenna
in the species just mentioned.

Second antenna:
—• This is quite like the same
limb in C. hettacra. It seems
impossible to find any difference
even in the shape of the
clasp-ing organs of the endopodite;
their shape is subject to some,
though only slight, variation in
this species j ust as in C. hettacra.
The m a n d i b 1 e, maxilla, f i f t h, s i x t h and s e v e n t h 1 i m b s, fure a,
u p p e r 1 i p and par agn a tes are like those of C. hettacra.

The penis is of about the type reproduced in pl. II, fig. 13, G. S. BRADA’, 1907 ; its
copulatory appendage is like that of C. hettacra.

The rod-shaped organ is the same as is described and reproduced by G. W. Müller.

Fig. GXLVI. — Conchoecia Belgicae G. W. Müller, q. — 1. Shell seen
from the side; 28 X. 2. Shell seen from below; 28 X. 3. Distal part of
Ihe rod-shaped organ seen from below; 133 X. 4. The middle part of the
postero-ventral edge of the upper lip; 833 X. (From specimens from

station 42 b.)

Remark: — Although there are a number of small differences between C. innominata
as described by G. S. Brada’ and the species dealt with above, there seems to be no doubt that
G. W. Muller’s identification of these two forms is quite correct.

Habitat: — Ant arctic Ocean:

S. A. E., Pl. station 42 b, lat. 65° 49’ S., long. 58° 40’ W.; deptli 250—0 m.; 18. I. 1902;
temperature at 250 m. and at the surface — 1.35° C. and + 1,10° C. resp.: 3 mature males
and 2 juvenes; R. M. S. 322.

Distribution: — Antarctic Ocean south of lat. 64° S.

My specimens were consequently caught within the area of distribution stated before.
