James J. Dana in his splendid work on the Crustacea of
the United States Exploring Expedition 1838—42 has laid the
Foundation of our knowledge of the antarctic Hyperids
de-scribing some new forms from that region; they are:
Cyllopas magellanicus Dana (p. 555).
Tuuria macrocephala Dana (p. 565).
Hyperia trigona Dana (= Parathemisto trigona p. 568).
Themisto antarctica Dana (= Euthemisto antarctica p. 570).
C. Spence Bate in the year 1862 1 enumerates from the
arctic region:
Lestrigonus exulans Kr. (= Hyperia gcdba p. 562).
Hyperia medusarum (= » » p. 562).
» oblivia Kr. (= Parathemisto oblivia p. 567).
» cyanece (= Euthemisto Nordenskiöldit p. 570).
