Besides, I have translated several tracts (10 or 12) and
sermons by Wesley, so that Hedstrom thinks that I am
very industrious. Between times 1 read proof sheets
from the printing office. I am thus working a good deal
for the Methodist church; and they are finding it quite
difficult in their denomination to find people capable of
doing such work. Rev. Hedstrom has recently been in
Boston and preached for the Swedes there; and according
to his own account he has made many happy and many
indignant. The latter were to institute Lutheran services
....Methodism here is sailing under a Lutheran flag. I
have spoken to many who believe nothing else, and wh
are very opposed to changing their doctrine to the slightest
extent. A capable Lutheran preacher would arouse
enthusiasm among the Swedes here....

Efter mångas anmodan måste jag skrifwa och bedja
om morbror will komma hit prest för Lutheranerne är
utan Prest nu. Håkansson var här i dag och Predikade
och i detsamma tog afsked från Lutherska församlingen
och dess tjenst befattning han är Bappitist, icke döpt
ännu men troligt blir här war en ganska stor rörelse
I kyrkan men i två partier Baptister och Lutheraner_________
Församlingen här är i ganska stor betryck om hwilket
som är rätt Baptisterna eller Lutherska läran.
