seem to make to keep us still and inactive I think we are
yet gaining ground so that the enemy will soon have to
give it up...

. ..It is good and noble for all persons to pray, but it Is
more especially so for soldiers—I love to go to hear our
mens evening prayers—there they stood tonight out on
the snow in two ranks, the whole Company with bare
heads—and perfectly still, and the Lords prayer and
blessing was read by Lieut Aaker—They then sang all
with one voice—
Trygg 1 din vård jag lämnar mig
När solen fr&n oss flyr
Och gladllgt skall jag prisa Dig
När dagen åter gryr —
Men om det stilla dödens bud
I denna natt jag hör —
Det är min tröst att Din, o Gud!
Jag lefver och jag dör —
När vi sjunger detta dä tänker vi äfven pä våra Hustrur,
barn, föräldrar, syskon och vänner hemma...
