låte but especially in the flowering twigs manv leaves are simple. Thus
C. dispar to a certain degree forms a connecting link between the sect.
Costatae and Ihe sect. Simplices. The species may be said to be
cor-relative to C. midtiformis (sect. Multinerviae) which species has simple
and entire — möre or less deeply 3-lobed — and, finally, 3-foliolate
leaves. In C. dispar no transitions are known, however, between Ihe
extreme leaf types.
The 6 new species described here may be disposed unconstrainedly
into the phytogeographical groups which have beeil advanced by the
present author in an earlier paper (W. 1941). So far known C. dispar
belongs to the Southern group with a Knysna interval, C. apiculuta to
the South-western endems, C. cristata and C. fasciculata to the
Northwestern endems, and, finally, C. aculeata and C. arcuata to Ihe Karroo
Mtn. endems.

Frutex. Rami el raniuli canescenli-pilosi; internodia 3—8 mm
longa; raniuli abbreviati 1- 4 mm longi dense foliati. Folia 3-foliolata;
vagina 1—2 mm longa amplectens sparse pilosa vel prope glabra;
sli-pulae auguste trianguläres ca. 1 mm longae acutae membranaceae
breviter cilialae; petiolus liber 1 —2 mm longus apice brevissime pilosus;
foliola 5—10 mm longa 0,5—0,8 mm lata linearia apice acuminata
glabra arcuata—prope recta supra convexa viridia nitida subtus ± ca-
