species comes near C. dodecandra Ii. Weim. and C. pterocarpa |Harv.)
H. Weim. C. cristata differs from Ihese and other species within the
seel. Costatue by the form and colour of Ihe receptacle. In conformity
to C. dodecandra the species has pilous leaves. The pilositv is however
much denser in C. cristata: young leaflets are covered by greyish white,
woolly hairs.

Frutex ramosus; rami et raniuli juniores dense
canescenti—cine-reo-villosi demum glabrescentes; internodia 4—8 mm longa; ramuli
abbreviati 2—4 vel interdum usque ad 10 mm longi dense foliati vaginis
foliorum obtecti. Folia 3-foliolata vel simplicia; vagina amplectens 1—2
mm longa cinereo-pilosa; stipulae triangulares obtusae vel subacutae
0,6—1 mm longae breviter ciliatae; foliola (4—)6—1()(—12) mm longa
(0,8—)1—1,5(—2) nun lata linearia—lineari-lanceolata subobtusa
ju-niora supra + dense canescenti-villosa demum glabrescentia nitida
subtus lanata marginibus manifeste revoluta. Flores c?
sessiles—sub-sessiles; bracteolae amplectentes lineares dense pilosae et ciliatae; sepala
3 4,5—5 mm longa 1,8—2 mm lata oblonga—obovato-oblonga acuta
extus dense pilosa rubra—rubiginosa; stamina 9; anlherae ca. 1 mm
longae ovoideae; filamenta 6—8 mm longa. Flores 9 sessiles;
bracteolae fere ul in cT; receptaculum (non plane maturum) 2,5 mm longum
1—1,2 mm crassum ovoideum leviter costatum; sepala 3 ca. 2 mm longa
0,5 mm lata lanceolata apice brevissime pilosa erecta; stylus ca. 5 mm
longus; stigmata brevia ferruginea.

Cliffortia dispar comes morphologically near C. eriocephalina
Cham. Il differs a.o. from this species in the following features: the
leaves are often simple, especially in the llowering twigs, Ihe pilositv
of the leaflets is less patent, the sepals of Ihe male flowers are pilose
ön the whole outside, the stamens are 9 in number (in C.
eriocephalina 6), the stigmata are only thinlv ramified.
