Preface.
This treatise is mainly based ön the distribution statements that
I published in »Studies in the Calenduleae L. In Ihe numerous
refe-rences lo this work I have used the shortest possible designation, namely
a Roman one (I).
The phytogeography of Dimorphotheca, Castalis, Osteospermum,
Gibbaria and Chrysanthemoides has received möre detailed treatment
than that of the other genera in the tribe. When I prepared my
mono-graph of the above-mentioned genera I studied a very extensive
herbarium material in order to make the distribution maps of their species
liotaniska Sotiser 1946.
