turns describing their training and

Recitals by outstanding Canadian
instrumentalists.
Farm Review (1715 GMT and Satur-
days at 2045 GMT). Reports on crop
prospects and food exports, prepared
with the assistance of the CBC’s
Farm Department.
The Great Lakes and St. Lawrence River
waterways lead from the heart of Canada
to the Atlantic Ocean. Largest Canadian
vessel travelling the waterways is the
Lemoyne, 670 feet long and with a capacity
of 550,000 bushels of wheat.

Featuring three consecutive recitals
by the outstanding Scottish violist
William Primrose: Oct. 10, ‘Sonata
Op. 120, No. 1 in E Minor” by
Brahms, and "Come Sweet Death”,
by Bach; Oct. 17, "Divertimento in
D” by Haydn, and "Elegie” by
Fauré: Oct. 24, "Sonata. for Viola,
No. 1” by the modern French com-
poser, Darius Milhaud, and three
descriptive works by Arthur Benja-
min. On Oct. 31 the famous Austra-
lian Metropolitan soprano, Marjorie
Lawrence, will be heard in a recital
including the “Letter scene from
Eugen Onegin” by Tchaikowsky, and
the "Narrative of Isolde” from the
first act of Wagner’s “Tristan and
Isolde”.
SATURDAYS
Sports Program (1700 and 2000
GMT). Tom Derbyshire reviews the
highlights of the week’s sport in
Canada. During the Fall season
Canadian Rugby Football games and
Lacrosse playoffs will be reported.
Starting in November play-by-play
descriptions of Hockey games from
Canada will also be presented.
Young Ideas (1715 GMT). Teen-
agers in Canada describe themselves
and their activities with on-the-spot
recordings from schools, clubs, sport
meets and general get-togethers.
On With the Show (2015 GMT)
Weldon Hanbury presents recordings
of popular music.
