A series of quarter-hour programs on
a wide variety of subjects given by
outstanding Canadians.

Musical Programs

CONCERT HALL (Sundays). Program
of classical music featuring interna-
tionally famous recording artists and
symphonic orchestras.

ORGAN AND PIANO (Mondays). A
series of shows of popular music
performed by two Montreal artists,
Buddy Payne, organist, and Doris
Killam, pianist.

RECITAL (Tuesdays). Canadian musi-
cians play wellknown music from the
classics, and compositions by modern
Canadian composers.

BILL HERBERT, Canadian Chronicle
representative in Vancouver.

Two FOR THE SHOW (Wednesdays).
Fred Hill, baritone, and Jack Bristowe,
pianist, present an abbreviated version
of musical comedies and films by
popular composers.

FOLK SonGs (Thursdays). Alan Mills,
Canada’s leading ballad singer, inter-
prets the folk songs of North America
and traces the origin of many to the
countries of Europe and Great Britain.

Music OF THE MODERNS (Fridays).
A weekly series for the entertainment
of the modern music enthusiast.

PRAIRIE SCHOONER (Saturdays). One
of Canada’s most famous programs of
pioneer western music presented for
our Overseas listeners.

Drama

Dramatic programs are heard twice
weekly during October. On Mondays,
a quarter-hour presentation of a
Canadian story in dramatic form will
replace the popular series ‘‘Barlows
of Beaver Street”. On Wednesdays,
Raymond Whitehouse will direct a
half-hour series of dramatic shows
representing the best works by Cana-
dian authors.
