In advance of the 1949 Canadian International Trade Fair, whose story
the International Service of the Canadian Broadcasting Corporation will
carry round the world, let me emphasize Canada’s hope that all those who
attend, either as exhibitors or buyers, may reap many benefits in their indi-
vidual fields of commerce.
In assisting the businessmen of many countries to renew and extend their
personal connections with each other, the Canadian Government is confident
that such meetings will do much to encourage wider and freer International
trade.
I therefore extend a warm welcome with the sincere assurance that Canada
will be proud to play host to all who take part in the 1949 Trade Fair.
