Princess Patricia’s Canadian
Light Infantry *
Canada
Le Régiment de Hull
North Nova Scotia Highlanders Le Royal 22e Régiment* Carleton and York Regiment
On these pages we illustrate the insignia of the regiments and corps ot
the Canadian Army represented in the two infantry brigades which Canada
has sent abroad to aid in the defence of the free world. Men from some of
Canada’s finest regiments, drawn from the length and breadth of their home-
land, have volunteered to serve in freedom’s cause.
Canada’s army needs little introduction to Europe, for it was there, in
the course of two world wars, that it grew to maturity. Although in recent
years Canadians have become concerned with defending the North American
continent from immediate attack, the main bulwarks of Canada’s defences,
and the defences of all western civilization, lie in Europe. To help man
these defences, the 27th Canadian Infantry Brigade is now in Germany as
part of Canada’s contribution to NATO. On the other side of the world,
in Korea, Canada’s 25th Brigade is fighting side by side with other UN forces
against the armies of aggression.
