Special programs will be scheduled in honour of the Coronation.

Some of them are
On May 12th, 1937, the post-office in a small Alberta farming community stamped nearly
5,000 letters, addressed to such far away places as Burma, Fiji and Peru. The reason is perhaps
apparent in the town’s name — Coronation. On May 31st at 1705 GMT a special program
will tell of the town’s preparations for this June 2nd. ee +
Coronation trumpets will sound from the Peace Tower of the Parliament Buildings in
Ottawa as part of Canada’s official celebrations on June 2nd. A broadcast of the ceremony,
including the voice of the Governor General, will be heard at 2235 GMT.
On June 3rd at 1705 GMT Canadians from all parts of the country and from many walks
of life will describe their personal reactions to the Coronation ceremonies as they heard it
on their radios, read about it in their newspapers or saw it on television.

2230 GMT each weekday, Monday through
Friday, news analyses by commentators,
associated with Canadian periodicals and
daily newspapers, speaking from key news
points.

the Royal Tour of Canada, and reflections on
Royalty by Canadians, with the Coronation
very much in mind.
Tuesdays: How We Live — 2245 GMT.
Stories by citizens themselves about everyday
living in Canadian towns, cities and villages.
Thursdays: Canada at Work. — 2245 GMT.
This magazine includes comment on finance
and trade as well as descriptions and on the
spot broadcasts of specific Canadian indus-
tries.
Saturdays: Books and Shows — 1705 and
1850 GMT. Critical reviews and descriptions
of Canadian activity in the various arts,
including new publications, music, painting,
drama and all the major and minor forms of
cultural expression.
