The Fair in Canada
A feature of rural life in Canada, as in many other lands, is the annual
agricultural fair. Dozens take place during the summer and autumn. Each
brings together hundreds of farmers, breeders, and other rural producers who
are widely scattered throughout Canada’s vast agricultural areas.
The fair is the show-place of the best in crops and livestock and butter and
honey and jams and scores of other products. Horses are still a leading
attraction. Judges award cups and ribbons and cash prizes for the best
poultry and poultry products, dairy, beef and market cattle, seed, grain and
hay, sheep and wool, and fruits and vegetables. This is only a partial list.
The winning entries at the regional fairs are later displayed and judged at
the biggest fair of all—the Royal Agricultural Winter Fair—held each
November in Toronto.
Conspicuous at Canadian fairs these days is the enthusiastic participation
of younger people both boys and girls. döhe farni women real tel

The fair is for fun too. There is amusement and entertainment for the
whole family after a long and busy season on the farm.
