Program Notes

Canadian Chronicle

Many of the sounds of Christmas in
Canada — from Toyland in the City to the
annual airlift of Christmas Parcels to Arctic
outposts, will be heard on Canadian Chronicle
— the program of Canadian people and
happenings (heard daily except Sunday at
1715 GMT and Monday, Wednesday, Friday
and Saturday at 2245 GMT).

News Commentaries

Following news bulletins at 1700, 1845 and
2230 GMT each weekday, Monday through
Friday, news analyses by commentators
associated with Canadian periodicals and
daily newspapers, speaking from key news
points.

Talks and Magazines

Sundays: Special Speaker—1705 and 1850
GMT. Canadians and visitors speak about
their particular fields of interest or occupa-
tion.

Overheard in Canada — 1715 GMT. A
selection of programs originally heard on CBC

domestic networks, rebroadcast for overseas
listeners.

Canadiana — 2240 GMT. Stories by Kerry
Wood of Red Deer, Alberta: December 6th
— ibeeks, Wills Stones Dec, iain —
Feeding the Birds in Winter; Dec. 20th —
Christmas Rabbit; Dec. 2ith — A New,
Year’s Cabin.

Tuesdays: How We Live — 2245 GMT.

Canadians celebrate Christmas and the
holiday season in varying ways. In this
program people from cities, towns and

villages will describe their day to day activi-
ties as the peak of the festivities approaches.

Thursdays: Canada at Work — 2245 GMT.
This magazine includes comment on finance
and trade as well as descriptions and on the
spot broadcasts of specific Canadian indus-
tries. A feature this month will be a descrip-
tion of the Christmas tree industry by Robson
Black.

Saturdays: Books and Shows: 1705 and 1850
GMT. Critical reviews and descriptions of
Canadian activity in the various arts, includ-
ing new publications, music, painting, drama
and all the major and minor forms of cultural
expression. :

Dimanche: "Les Canadiens chez eux” —
émission familière sur la vie au Canada.

Mardi: commentaire politique; chronique
agricole de R. Arsenault et chronique scienti-
fique de F. Seguin.

Mercredi: rapport des Nations-Unies par
notre correspondant, Hubert Desaulniers;
chronique syndicale par Bob Giguère; les
animaux canadiens.

Jeudi: commentaire économique de Mee
Jean-Marie Nadeau; les grandes industries
canadiennes et ‘‘Gens de chez nous”.

Vendredi: revue de presse; rapport de la
capitale par Georges Langlois; Explorations
canadiennes par Pierre Daviault.

Samedi: Le coin des auditeurs et revue des
événements canadiens de la semaine.

Deuxième émission quotidienne entendue
à 22.30, heure française.

Cette demi-heure se termine tous les jours
par un bulletin d’informations de 15 minutes.

Dimanche: ‘‘Les Canadiens chez eux”.

Lundi: actualités canadiennes.

Mardi: hommes et terre du Canada, repor-
tage géographique.

Mercredi: actualités canadiennes.
Jeudi: Les Arts et les Lettres au Canada.
