World Scout Jamboree in Canada
“Jamboree of New Horizons”, August 1 8th—28th.

For the first time in scouting history Boy Scouts from all over the world will
meet outside Europe. The Eighth World Scout Jamboree is being held in
Canada this year and will be opened officially by His Excellency, The Rt.
Hon. Vincent Massey, Governor General of Canada.

The ten thousand Boy Scouts from more than fifty countries attending
the Jamboree will be living under canvas on a camp site of approximately
one square mile amidst rolling park land near the town of Niagara-on-the-Lake
in Ontario. Among the attractions of this region are the famous Niagara Falls
and numerous monuments marking events in Canadian history.

In order to give listeners in other countries the opportunity to follow the
many activities taking place at the ‘‘Jamboree of New Horizons”, the CBC
International Service will broadcast interviews and commentaries in fifteen
languages directly from the camp site.
