In recent years a collection of video tapes, sound tapes, slides and other audio-
visual material, mainly produced by the information department of the museum,
has been added to the archives.
Catalogues: There is a systematic subject catalogue and an alphabetically
arranged card catalogue with headings that can be the name of a place, an industry,
a firm or a person for instance. The contents of the private files are summarily
listed. There is a special catalogue for the drawing collections in accordance with
the arrangement of the list of museum objects.
If the Archives and Library department of the museum is to be able to fulfil
its duties for the documentation of the development of Swedish technology, there
arecertain important projects that have to be carried out. The internal organization
has to be improved, an inventory of existing collections has to be made, catalogues,
indexes and lists have to be made complete, the continuing collection of objects
and documents has to be listed and brought up to date, lists of literature and
bibliographies should be compiled and finally a guide to the archives and library
should be worked out and preferably published.
