18. Adjektivet är i engelskan oböjligt till genus,
numerus och kasus, t. ex.
Sing.

den gode faderns, den goda moderns, det goda barnets,
Plur.
Nom. the good fathers (mothers, children},

19. Från adjektiven böra skiljas några af adjektiv bildade
substantiv (adjektiv-substantiv), hvilka böjas såsom andra
substantiv. Hit höra
a) namn på sekter, partier samt folkslags namn på an, t. ex.
Christian, kristen, republican, republikan, German, tysk,
Catholic, katolik, radical, radikal, Italian, italienare,
Protestant, protestant, liberal, liberal, Prussian, preussare,
Lutheran, lutheran, Russian, ryss,
Roman, romare.
Således: a Christians duty, en kristens plikt, pl. the Christians
o. s. v.
