tura occipito-mastoidea omtrent forsvunden. Sutura
spheno-temporalis udvendig tydelig, indvendig ikke
til at se. Processus mastoideus 1!/2 cm. hej, stark
og kraftig; cavitas glenoidea dyb og bred, på in-
sertionslinjen af ledkapselen på tuberculum articulare
en noget opdrevet kam.
å. Af kilebenet haves corpus med dens bagre flade
fuldstandigen sammensmeltet med pars basilaris af
baghovedbenet, en kunstig åbning gjort paa clivus
bringer ingen skillevåg for dagen. Procc. clinoidei
afbrukne. Den største del af højre ala magna og
kun en liden del af den venstre findes. Begge pro-
cessus pterygoidei afbrukne paa midten. Alae parvae
borte. Fra forsiden sees ind i store sinus sphenoidei,
hvilke kryber helt ind under cella turcica.
c. Af daghovedbenet er en stor del af venstre squama,
en mindre del af højre afbrukket, ligeså lidt af ven-
stre massa lateralis. Foramen magnum 36 mm. langt,
31 mm. bredt. Ledfladerne vel udviklede, omkring
dem sees en voldformig opdrivning af bensubstans,
svarende til ledkapselens insertion.
2. Af venstre skulderblad (pl. XII. fig. 4) sees
tre løse dele, hvoraf den største indbefatter den udven-
dige rand, ledhulen, acromion og proc. coracoideus.
Muskeludspring stårkt fremtrådende. Langs med randen
af ledhulen en voldformig fremstaenhed af bensubstans;
lignende mere uregelmæssige excrescenser sees pa over-
fladen af acromion, paa spina scapulae og pa _ proc.
coracoideus.
3. Det kejre overarmsben (pl. XII. fig. 3) er
0.360 m. langt, stårkt bygget med fremtrådende udvåx-
ter, svarende til udspring og insertion af muskler og
bånd; benet i sin helhed sårdeles vel bevaret. På
tuberculum minus og majus samt på tuberositas deltoidea
vorteformede udvåxter af bensubstans,
4. Det venstre larben (pl. XII. fig. 1) 0.500 m.
langt, kraftigt, vel bevaret med undtagelse af troch. major
og dele af condylerne, hvor den spongiøse substans er
blottet; paa trochanter major og minor samme ben-
udvåxter som på overarmsbenet.
På linea aspera antager disse end større dimensioner,
idet de vålter sig frem som en fri, bugtet kam, opad
med retning bagtil, langere ned med retningen indad.
Langsmed insertionen af knåleddets kapsel paa larbenet
sees paa de steder, hvor benet er helt, bensubstansen
fremdrevet i en tyk, labeformig fra 0.5 til 1.0 cm. bred
rand.
). Det køjre larben, 0.503 m. langt, af styrke
og udseende ligt det venstre, nåsten fuldstandigen be
varet; her sees de samme udvåxter af benvåvet, står-
kere fremtrådende på linea aspera, betydeligt mindre
langs insertionen såvel af hofteleddets som af knå-
leddets kapsel.
6. Det venstre skinneben (tibia) (pl. XII. fig. 2)
0.413 m. langt, kraftigt, forresten af udseende som lår-
benene, nåsten helt bevaret. Langs linea poplitea samt
ved mallel. internus mindre fremtrådende, benede ud-
parietal suture is on the outside plane; on the inside
indistinct. The masto-occipital surface almost disap-
pearing, the temporo-sphenoid suture outside obvious
inside invisible. The mastoid process I1/, cm. high,
strong and powerful; the glenoid cavity deep and
broad; on the line of attachment of the capsule upon
the eminentia articularis is to be seen a somewhat
protruding ridge.
b. Of the sphenoid bone the main body is scem with its
hind surface wholly united to the basilar process of
the occipital bone; an artificial opening made on the
basilar groove shows no partition wall. The clenoid
process broken. The greater part is found of the
right greater wing; of the left only a lesser part.
Both pterygoid processes broken in the middle; the
lesser wings missing. From the front you may
look into great sphenoidal sinus which extends quite
under the dorsum ephippii:
c. Of the occipital bone a great deal of the left squa-
mous portion is lost, a lesser part of the right bro-
ken off. Also a little of the left lateral portion is
wanting. Foramen magnum 36 mm. long, 31 mm.
wide. The articular surfaces well developed, about
them is seen a mound-like protrusion of bony sub-
stance corresponding to the attachment of the joint
capsule.
2. Of the left shoulder-blade (pl. XII. fig. 4) three
loose parts are seen, of which the greatest contains the
axillary border, the glenoid cavity, the acromion and the
coracoid process. A distinct prominence indicating the
origin of the muscles is to be seen. Along the border
of the socket is a moundlike protrusion of bony substance,
similar though miore irregular excrescences are seen on
the surface of the acromion, on the spines of the scapula
and on the coracoid process.
3. The rzght humerus (pl. XII, fig. 3), 0.360 m.
long, is strongly built with prominent excrescences, indi-
cating the origin and the insertion of muscles and liga-
ments; the whole bone is extremely well preserved. On
the greater and lesser tuberosity and on the deltoid
ridge wartlike excrescences of a bony substance.
4. The left thighbone (pl. XII. fig. 1), 0.500 m.
long, is powerful, well preserved excepting the trochanter-
major and parts of the condyles where the spongy sub-
stance is bare. On the trochanter-major and minor the
same bony excrescences are found as on the humerus.
On the linea aspera the latter have still greater
dimensions, they seem rolling forward like a free undu-
lating ridge, upwards in a backward direction, further
down in an inward direction. Along the attachment of
the capsula of the knee-joint of the thighbone, on the
places where the bone is entire, is seen the bony sub-
stance projecting in a thick labial-formed ridge, from
0.5 up to 1.0 cm. wide. :
9. The right thigh-bone 0.503 m. long, of strength
and appearance like the right almost wholly preserved.
Here the same excrescences of bone are seen, more
strongly protruding on the linea aspera, a great deal
less prominent along the attachment of the capsule be-
longing as well to the hip as to the knee joint.
6.: The 1/ ha (pl. XIL fig. 2) 0413 m. long,
presents the same appearance as the thigh-bones, almost
wholly preserved. Along the oblique line as well as
along the internal malleolus, lie protruding bony excres-
