filled with new and remarkable interests, and she

Whenever she managed to rush up a moment to her
sister’s room she found her at her writing-table;
but Aniuta would never tell what she was
writing, as she had been scolded more than once by
the governess for not only going astray herself
but for tempting Tania to do wrong too. ‘Tania,
dear, do go away now,’ she would say. ‘If
Malvina Jakovlevna catches you here, there will be
a row again, you know!’ And Tania went back
