Aug. von Hartmansdorff!
Sir,
I take the liberty of sending you herewith translated extracts
of letters, which in ordinary circumstances I would never think of
exhibiting, but which may have their use at present.
During an audience I had with H.R.H. the Crown Prince last
Wednesday, H.R.H. requested me to communicate to you his wish
to be informed when the Memorial of S. Owen & myself is to be
considered in the »StatsRåds beredning» as H.R.H. desires to be
present.
I shall be glad to know when you can conveniently receive
me, that I may communicate any information in my power.

Will Mr Askelöf have the goodness, to send by the bearer the
numbers of the Minerva, M. A. kindly promised G. Scott.
G. S. called yesterday on M. A., but failed of meeting him
and to day there is no opportunity.
God shall protect and defend truth, for He is truth.

2 Detta brev bevaras i Kungliga bibliotekets autografsamling. Det saknar
datering, men torde avse de nummer av Svenska Minerva i slutet av maj och
början av juni 1838, där Askelöf behandlar religionsfrihetsfrågan. Således är
brevet sannolikt från mitten av juni 1838.
