to make them over vnto mee here by exchange. The Bill you may
send inclosed to mee in the ordinary conveyance, to Amsterdam,
from whence it is duly conveyed hither. And yf when I haue done
here, any prouision could be made, for to support mee once for a
smaller circuit in Denmarke, to deale with the Lord Rosencrantz &
the rest of the Lutherans which are at Rostocke, Lubecke, &
Hamburgh. Then I should be willing to retire my self to a corner &
fall to the other part of the negotiation, which is to make vse of
all my travells and observations for the good of others & of our
posterity. This is my desire, yf God be pleased blesse it, I shall
haue cause to blesse his name.
Salute our freindes. Stirr vpp their hearts to resolucon[.] Be
you allso cheerfull in the Lord. Is not hee allsufficient? Is he not
most admirable in Counsell, and powerfull in Workes? Haue not
wee experience of his providence? Why then should wee droope,
as yf wee had noe place of refuge? Take hold of the promise,
that in the tyrne of famine, thou shalt be fedd. Trust in the Lord,
and verily thou shalt inherit the land. Let vs onely be sober,
watchful!, patient, constant, and earnest in prayers, and wee shall
see the salvation of our God. 1 am verily perswaded, that this
Country of Sweden is depopulated to be replanted with a new
generation, and become another Holland in due tyrne, for there is
nothing in the world wanting here, to make the Country flourish
but industrious and godly people, for all other things there is plenty
and aboundance, & the state desireth nothing soe much as to be
replenished with Inhabitants, and who knoweth but that this place
may bee a most quiet place of refuge till the storme be overpast,
and afterwardes a seminary for to replant other parts, and who
knoweth but that all your feates of education may not be here
sooner set a worke, then you are aware of. Well let vs not faint
in welldoing.

From Nortcoping the 29 of May 1636.
I haue stayed here in consultacon with him that sent for mee
almost these 3 weekes, that wee might knowe one another well,
before wee should ioyne. Now to morrow I purpose to set
forward to Stockholme. The Lord Channcellrr is dayly expected there
and his absence with the dilation of the dyet for his sake hath
giuen mee respite to stay here so long, where amongst other good
informations, w:ch giue hopes of a good successe here, I haue learn-
