was formed, and was the social-democratic party
of Norway until 1918, when it broke with demo-
cratic, and recognised also non-parliamentary,
tactics. In 1920 the Norwegian Agrarian Party was
formed, with a marked conservative tendency.
A new labour party, the Norwegian Social-
Democratic Party, was formed in 1921, on account
of the fact that the Labour Party had that year
joined the Moscow International. However, the
Norwegian Labour Party was excluded from the
Moscow International in 1923 because it was too
«independent». Since that time the Norwegian
Labour Party has not been a member of any
international organisation. On the Labour Party
being excluded from the Moscow International
(1923), the Norwegian Communist Party was
formed that year in adherence to the Moscow
International.
In 1927 the Norwegian Labour Party and the
new Social-Democratic Party were again united
into one party. This party is not affiliated to any
of the international labour organisations.
Two parties, Det frisinnede folkeparti (the
Liberal People’s Party) formed in 1909, and Det
radikale folkeparti (the Radical People’s Party)
formed in 1900, are both small parties, the former
having mainly co-operated with the Conservatives
and the latter with the Liberals. In some constituen-
cies they have sought election as independent
parties.
