Scientists have demonstrated that the vitamins occurring in fish are not adverse- ly affected by preservation methods, and that Norwegian fish conserves such as brisling, smaa- sild, and kippered herrings are very rich in vitamins. Further, it has been proved that Norwe- gian canned fish possesses a high iodine value — a factor of prime importance in a food so widely used. 106
