concentrate on fur production, the federation has
also become the central organ for the sale of
Norwegian furs both at home and abroad. The
economic crisis has hit also silver-fox breeders
very severely. The lowest level was reached in
1932 when very fine furs were sold for 130-150
Kroner each.
A good deal of improvement has been percep-
tible in the past year. Those breeders who have
survived the crisis and have been able to reduce
working costs have been able to make a certain
amount of profit.
The furs have hitherto been sold in London,
Leipzig, and Paris. In 1933 an auction was organ-
ised also in Oslo and comparatively good prices
were realised.

Norges S¢lvrevavilslag had 1620 members in
1933. It has its own official organ: Norsk Pels-
dyrblad. The head offices are at Bergen. Chair-
