anchovies; some of the mackerel is smoked and
salted, and herrings are also kippered. Small
herrings are tinned as smaasild-sardines. The
liver of the cod gives the famous Norwegian
medicinal cod-liver oil, which is in such great
demand in the international commodity markets.

scientific research, and export conditions may be
