over behandlingen ber.
D. C., J. B. and J. M. L. to their esteemed
friend R. Pbtbbsbn. Dear Sir! It is with great pleasnre
that we sit down to write you those few lines, hopingthey
will find you prospering and enjoying the best of health.
We wish you had a merry chriatmas and happy new year.
We also wish many more of them to you. We also send
our greeting to the chaplain wishing him every good that
he may desire and a happy success to his Christian efforts
towards the unfortunate who are cast in his way. We also
greet all the keepers who had to do with us thanking them
for their kind consideration towards us, especially the old
gentleman, that rings that unceasing beil. We left
Christiania as you know.––––––-Having no more to say at

present we again thank you for your kindness to us and
remain yours sincerily. —

L.––––„it seemed like leaving a brother

for he and 1 had suffered a good deal together, however
the best of friends must part, especially old Whales, so I

bid him a kind good bye —––––––I send you my kindest

regards never forgetting you nor your advice to trust in
God of whom I had been to neglectful to my own sorrow
having been to reckless and ungrateful. I send a greeting
to tbe chaplain hoping he may have good health and reward
for his kindness to .the unfortunate. Your friend H. D. C.“

man kender deres fald, læser deres breve, deler deres sorger,
man giver dem råd, man irettesætter dem og korrigerer dem
