different kinds of cold-pressing. There are also 2 Siemens-Martin furnaces, 4 Lancashire
forges, 5 rolling mills and a steam hammer forge for tool steel, wire drawing mills and a
special factory for making all kinds of springs for railway waggons, carriages, harrow-,
rake-, and cultivator teeth, etc.
STORFORS AND NYKROPPA.
The former, started in the eighteenth century, was turned into aj Company in
1865. The majority of the shares was acquired by Uddeholm in 1908, and the whole
of them in 1918, when the Storfors Works Co., Ltd., was dissolved, and entirely
incorporated with the Uddeholm Co., Ltd. ’
The Storfors and Nykroppa Steel and Tube Mills are situated on the State Railway
just to the north of Kristinehamn, and ship their products from this harbour and from
Gothenburg. The Works consist of blast-furnaces, Siemens-Martin- and acid Bessemer
furnaces, rolling mills, a steam hammer forge and a large number of tube rolling mills.
