abroad as the Dannemora
ores, some of the
Pers-berg ores are considered in
Sweden to be of about the
same quality for steel
manufacture. The Company
also obtains iron ore from
Klacka-Lerberg, Striberg,
Timansberg,
Dalkarlsberg, Bergsäng,
Tuolla-vara and several other
famous iron-ore fields.
We give below some
analyses of ores. The
figures indicate per cent.

THE STEEL WORKS AT DEGERFORS
consist of the following units: 2 blast furnaces, 4 Siemens-Martin furnaces, one of which
is acid and three basic, one blooming mill, one heavy rolling mill, one bar-iron rolling mill,
one rolling mill for wire rods, one heavy plate mill, one sheet mill, a steam hammer, a
spring factory, a nail factory, a workshop for the manufacture of small articles, a foundry,
a machine shop, a plate mill, and a shop for pressing heavy plates.
