As it seemed important to know if any of the moulds isolated
from human faeces also were present in animal excrement, a few
trials of such material were made. Faeces of bear, (Ursus ameri-
canus), buffalo (Bison americanus), elk (Alces gigas), monkey and
rabbit were obtained from the zoological garden at Woodland
Park, Seattle. Faeces of two cold-blooded animals, a species of
frog (Hyla regilla) and a lizard (Gerrhonotus principis) were also
examined. The results of the examinations are given below.
Bear. April 8, 1914: Penicillium avellaneum, n. sp.

Monkey. April 8, 1914: Aspergillus niger, Saccharomyces.
BurrFALO. April 9, 1914: Penicillium luteum.
