Habitat. On granitie very uneven stone, without accompanying lichens,

At first sight A. Magnussoni might be taken for a dark alpine
form of A. veronensis, but the whole structure of it, especially the
high hymenium brings it to quite a different group. Certainly it
is more nearly related to A. lapponica, with which there is also
some outward resemblance.
