Komsdalen.
flere Gange forgjæves har været forsøgt at naa op til
Toppen. Imidlertid fortælles der, at det for en
halvhundrede Aar siden skal være lykkedes 2 Mænd at
komme op og tillige velbeholdne ned igjen, rigtignok,
tillægges der, efter at have ligget paa Toppen i 2 Døgn,
inden de vovede sig til den forfærdelige Nedstigning.
65. ITeblungHiiæs, ved llauma-Elvens Udløb i
Romdalsfjorden, et Strandsted og Markedsplads, har
850 Indb. og Telegrafstation. Stedet har en smuk
Beliggenhed ved Foden af Sætnæs fjeld (3,800 Fod), fra
hvis Top, der kan bestiges paa 3 ä 4 Timer, man har
et storartet Rundskue af Romsdals- og Søndmøre-Alperne.
ett. Parti af Molde. Kjøbstaden Molde kar
1,700 Indbyggere og en lærd Skole. Her findes ogsaa
et Hospital for Spedalske, llæknæs Hospital. Molde er
som Handelsstad af ringe Betydning, men med Hensyn
til naturskjøn Beliggenhed søger den sin Lige; saavel
fra selve Byen som fra hele den nordlige Bred af
Fanne-fjordenden, F annestranden, en af Norges paa
Vegetation rigeste Egne, liar man nemlig en Udsigt paa en
Gang saa smilende og saa storartet skjøn, at den
utvivlsomt er enestaaende i vort Land. Forgrunden dannes
af en Række smaa, låve og skovbevoxede Øer og den
Mil bagenfor liggende skovklædte større 0 Sækken
med Veøy mellem hvilke to Ørækker man ser Fjorden.
Bag disse Øer hæve sig Oksen og Alfarnæssets
afrundede Bjergpartier indtil henimod 2,000 Fod o. II.. og over
disse hæver sig endelig i selve Baggrunden de
majestætiske, pittoreske Romdalsfjelde — Vengetinderne,
Kalskraatind, Romsdalshorn, Troldtinderne ni. v., — og
Fjeldpartiet mellem Romsdalen og Norddalen og Stor-1
You are shut in on all sides in the narrow vale by
dark, lofty, almost perpendicular fjelds, most of them
reaching an altitude of 5,000 feet. The young
vegetation in the valley itself, and the number of beautiful
cataracts, which everywhere meet the eye, together
with the elegant forms of the mountains, reassure, as
it were, the mind, dispelling the thought that you are
imprisoned by cloud-capt fields.
«a. Va^rmedalsfos. Amongst the many
beautiful waterfalls which are to be found in Romsdalen,
must also be named Værmedalsfos, close to the posting
station Ortneim, where the „ Værnia11 cames foaming
down, in several terasses, from a height of 1S00 feet.
02. TroBdtiiiderue, on the western side of the
valley, near the posting station Horgheim, raise their wild
fantastic peaks to an altituld of 5,720 feet above the sea.
©8. Esotel Auk. Half a mile above Veblungnæs
lies the well known Aak Hotel, where tourists for a
shorter or longer period, can combine the enjoyment
of beautiful scenery with fishing and shooting, and
without lacking the comforts of civilized life. From
Aak the view of Bomsdalshorn is magnificent, and, to
the north-east of that mountain, the Vængetinder raise
their lofty summits to an altitude of 5,870 feet above
the sea.
64. lloiuHtSalsliorii and Vængetinderne. To
obtain a full view of Romsdalshorn — by the posting
station Horglieim — you must go some distance down
the valley, trom where the smooth shining toja 4,950
feet above the sea, would seem to corroborathe the
popular notion, that it is inaccessible. And certain it
