7. Utdrag av skrivelse fra Det
norske generalkonsulat i Antwerpen til
Norges Oplysningskontor for Næringsveiene,
datert 16de april 1902.

»I anledning av Oplysningskontorets
skrivelse av 22de f. m. angaaende
forsyning i belgiske havner av raapetroleum
til dieselmotorskibe har jeg tilskrevet
vicekonsulaterne i Bruges, Ostende og
Gand, samt større oljefirmaer i Antwerpen.

Fra et av sidstnævnte firmaer har jeg
mottat følgende svar, der idetheletat synes
at gi de korrekteste oplysninger:

1) »En Belgique ce n’est que dans le
port d’Anvers que les navires à moteur
Diesel peuvent se procurer le petrole
brut.

2) Ce Pétrole Combustible est de
provenance Américaine.

3) Au Mois de Decémbre 1911 le prix
était d’env. Frs. 70./75. la tonne, fob
Anvers«.

Der synes imidlertid at fremgaa av
de vicekonsulen i Ostende indsendte
meddelelser, at fartøier der er forsynt med
dieselmotorer, altid kan paaregne at er-’
holde raapetroleum (pétrole brut) i Ostende.
Dog «hvis større kvantum tiltrænges, bør
man altid gi sin ordre nogen dage paa
forhaand, da der ikke holdes større
beholdninger paa lager; raffinert petroleum
derimot kan man altid faa i større partier.

Vicekonsulen tilføier at der i Ostende
haves paa lager pensylvansk, russisk og
galizisk-rumænsk raffinert petroleum.
Prisen for raa vare (pétrole brut) var i
december maaned frs. 6.50 pr. 100 kg ,
men er nu steget til frs. 13.00 pr. 100
kg. Varen leveres her frit langs siden
i fat. Den raffinerte petroleum staar
nu for amerikansk petroleum i 18 frs.,
russisk 16 frs. og galizisk 14^2 frs. pr.
100 kg.

Vicekonsulen i Bruges, der har
indhentet oplysninger hos »Compagnie des
Installations maritimes de Bruges«,
meddeler likeledes at dieselmotorskibe kan
komplettere sin beholdning av
raapetroleum saavel i Bruges som i Zeebrugge,

forsaavidt ordre om leveranse er git nogen
tid forut.

Vicekonsulen tilføier endvidere:

»La marchandise envisagée, serait du
pétrole brut, dit aussi pétrole lourd ou
»Mazout«, de provenance Américaine ou
Autrichienne, ayant une densité de 0.890.
Cette marchandise était cotée à frs. 7.00

I Gand findes der derimot for tiden

8. Skrivelse fra »The Diesel Engine Co.,
Ltd. til det norske generalkonsulat i
London, dateret 15de april 1912.

»Referring to your recent visits to this
Office, we much regret that you had to
make a second call, owing to the
memorandum made on the occasion of your
first visit being mislaid.

We now have pleasure in gi ving you
the prices of oil at various ports, as per
the enclosed list, which gives the prices
of oil in December last, and which we
hope wil give you the information you
require.

The type of oil which would be
sup-plied is that commonly known as »liquid
fuel« the specific gravity of which is from
0.9 to 0.93 and the flash point is from
200 to 220 F. When specifying this oil
it is best to ask the suppliers for fuel
oil suitable for Diesel Engines, as they
are all in a position to supply this and
are fully conversant with the
require-ments.

You will understand that it is only
within the last two or three years that
the developments of the Marine Diesel
Engine have been sufficient to justify
large stores of oil being kept at the
various British Ports, and we do not think
that any purpose would be served in
giving the prices of oil for the last ten
years. Before the stores of oil were
lo-cated the prices varied from 50/— to
60/— a ton, but we think you may take
the prices which we are now giving you
as standard, and not likely to be exeeded
to any extent in normal times.

With regard to your query as to the
facilities for getting the oil on board,
this would be carried out by means of
pumps.

Oil for Diesel Engines Prices and Ports
supplied.
