In the Cape Wankarema material occur a number of
va-rieties. The valve varies from subconstricted to gibbous in
the middle with all possible transitions to N. Stuxbergii Cl.
The strice are in some specimens from the same locality
inter-rupted and vary from 9 to 12 in 0,oi mm. var. interrupta Cl.
Pl. 36, fig. 21.
Another variety, asymmetrica CL, has the strire ononehalf
of the valve more approximate to the median line, than 011
the other. Length 0,os. Br. 0,ois, stria3 8 in 0,oi mm. obscurely
punctate.
