18th of Nov. 1911, with Rev. A. J. Lofgren as its
first financial agent. Rev. C. Paulson was his
as-sistant in 1912 and the following year Rev. H. W.
Eklund was in charge of this important work.
The Bethel Home
In April 1914 the Association bought an
excellent house in Brooklyn with twelve rooms, which
had been owned by one of New York’s millionaries.
The price $12,000 for such a piece of property
must be considered extremely low; the lot could
hardly be bought for that price now.
After a few years this home became too small,
however, and a much larger house with several acres
of land was purchased, valued at $60,000, near
Os-sining. This three story building with a commodious
