From the examinations made and the tests carried out, it has been proved that a
tine spirit can be obtained from raw sulphite spirit quite as good as that from
raw potatoe or grain spirit. In addition to raw spirit, therefore, there is manufactured
for export a rectified spirit produced from raw sulphite spirit.
Sulphite spirit can be employed for chemical-technical purposes of every kind,
such as for the manufacture of ether, acetic acid; of pharmaceutical preparations,
e. g. : chloroform, chloral, iodoform; in the production of aniline colours, of japan,
and varnishes and of solvents; for lighting- and heating purposes and of fuel for
combustion motors (motor spirit).
After rectification, sulphite spirit can be further manufactured and employed for
consumption purposes.
The manufactures of the Swedish Sulphite .Spirit Works is sold through a
common Selling Association:
