to the duties of the office ; therefore he suggested
that to insure results, a person should be engaged
who could give all, or a fair share of his time to the

Vexiö, Sweden, Mr. Josephson, chairman of the
library committee, reported that while in Sweden he
had obtained promises of liberal donations of books

prospective donors, however, attached the condition that the
society should first show that it maintains a library
accessible to the public. Donations from public

Sweden, the report concludes, the one thing needful

council met and organized by electing officers and
committees, as given in the lists, no other business
being transacted.
