The treasurer was instructed to arrange for the
storage of the collections of the society for the
present.

A draft of by-laws, submitted by Mr. Josephson,
was referred to a committee for final revision.

Messrs. Wallen ius and Josephson were appointed
a press committee, with instructions to issue a call
soliciting, through the press, contributions of
Swed-ish-American literature and historical manuscripts to
the library. Intending to visit Sweden, Mr.
Josephson was authorized to secure a suitable person to
compile a catalogue of Swedish-American literature
in the Royal Library at Stockholm.

Council Meeting, November 5, 1906.

The council met in the directors’ room of the
State Bank of Chicago, Mr. A. E. Johnson, of New
York, presiding.

Mr. O. A. Linder’s resignation from membership
of the council was accepted.

The proposed by-laws were adopted, as printed
in another part of the yearbook.

Annual Meeting, April 30, 1907.

The society met at the State Bank of Chicago.

President C. G. Lagergren being unavoidably
absent, the meeting was called to order by the
secretary, whereupon Rev. C. G. Wallenius was elected
temporary chairman.

The secretary’s annual report indicated that a
beginning had been made in the work of collecting
literature for the library, and that aside from that
practi jally no results of the past year could bo
shown. His experience was that a secretary entirely
engrossed with other work could not properly attend
