It was ordered that the annual meeting shall be held
November 7, the program committee to select the place for
the meeting.

Messrs. Nyvall, Wallenius and Hallbom were elected
program committee.

Moved and carried that the library committee have the
right to sell all books that do not come within the scope
of the Society, and that money thus procured shall he used
for the purchase of new books and for binding old ones.

It was decided that the matter of affiliation with the
Am eric an-Scandinavian Society be referred to the annual
meeting for discussion.

The treasurer was ordered to pay Mr* Söderström $90
to defray his expenses for work done In Minneapolis,

J. E* Hillberg and O. G, Nylund,

Annual Meeting, November 7, 1913.

The meeting was held in the Chicago City Club, and a
very interesting program was rendered.

The president had chosen for his subject: “Gustavus

Adolphus.”

Mr. Söderström gave a brief review of the life and work
of Lars Erickson, who is known as the pioneer of Swedish
sloyd in America.

Mr. Gustaf Holmquist, Miss Minnie Cedergren and Prof*
Frank Earnest furnished a most delightful musical
program.

The secretary reported that there had been 1,300 new
accessions of books and pamphlets added to the library
and that arrangements had been made to have the whole
collection catalogued during the coming year.

The membership had increased considerably, making a
total membership of 336. He reported that if all these
members pay the annual dues regularly the publication
committee will be able to publish the Year Book annually.
