It was ordered that a circular letter be written and
mailed to pastors and chairmen of societies, containing a
request that each church and society give a concert or
lecture and that the net proceeds be divided equally
between oar society and the con cert-giving organization. The
Building Fund Committee was given charge of these
entertainments wTith power to act.

Mr, Nyden was appointed member of the Building Fund
Committee.

Council Meeting, August 20, 1915,

The president, professor D. Nyvall, tendered his
resignation, owing to his inability to give the necessary time for
the work. His resignation was accepted with regret The
vice president was asked to serve as president until the
end of the year.

Mr. Josephson reported that he had sent out 300 letters
to ministers and chairmen of various societies without any
result.

Mr. Josephson notified the Council that the
Northwestern University is willing to take charge of our books and
other collections, catalogue and keep them available at
any time for the use of the public, free of charge. The
collection will be returned to the society, whenever
required, upon payment of charges for binding or rebinding.

It was decided that the Annual Meeting be held on the
5th of November at 8 p. m, at the Clubhouse of the Svithiod
Singing Society,

The president was asked to invite Dr. Gustav Andreen
of Rock Island to be the speaker of the evening.

The following members were elected members of the
nominating committee: I’. N. Andrén, chairman; G. S.
Ohslund and Carl ChindMom.

A committee was appointed to further the work of
introducing the Swedish language in the High Schools of
Chicago, consisting of Dr. M. Wahlström, chairman; Rev.
C. O. Hoff stem Alfred A. Norton, Edward C. Westman,
Fred Lundin, Charles Forsberg, Alexander Johnson, Dr.
T. Rothstein, and Judge Axel Chytraus,
