The annual meeting of the Swedish Historical Society
was held in St, Paul on the evening of November 26,
1921. Immediately after a six o’clock dinner at the
Frederic Hotel, which was attended by approximately
Airty-five members, a short business session was held.
The president and treasurer of the society presented
their reports, which appear elsewhere in the Year Book,
and members of the Council were elected as follows;
for one year, Professor T, W. Anderson, for two years,
Erik Dahlhielm, L A, Jackson, George M, Stephenson,
Mrs, Nanny Mattson Jaeger, Victor E. Lawson, for three
years, Andrew G, Johnson. C. J, Swendsen, G. Arvid
Hagstrom, John A. Swanson, C, J. Swanson,
At the conclusion of the business session the members
proceeded to the Minnesota Historical Library where the
principal part of the evening’s program was carried out.
The Minnesota Historical Library staff had arranged an
elaborate and interesting display of rare books,
newspapers, pamphlets and pictures from the Swedish
Historical Society collection and this exhibit was open to
the public during the entire afternoon and evening. A
great number of people availed themselves of this
opportunity to visit the library and become better
acquainted with the purposes and achievements of the
Swedish Historical Society,
At eight o’clock the visitors met in the assembly hall
adjoining the exhibit to listen to a program of historical
papers. Judge Andrew Holt, associate justice of the
supreme court of Minnesota, first spoke on ^Character-
