results of such researches. Of immediate concern to us
now is the resumption of the publication of the Year
Book, which has not appeared since 1917. We cannot
expect members to pay dues annually or in other ways.
showr interest in the Society unless we give them some
tangible proof that we are doing something. It is my
urgent recommendation that a Year Book be published
next year.
We failed to have a meeting last year, due primarily
to the fact that we had then barely begun our negotiations
for the transfer of the library and all important
matters were merely pending. As a result of this there
are now ten directors whose terms have expired. The
terms of the following council members expired last
year: Victor E. Lawson, Emanuel Schmidt, J. A.
Jackson, Erik Dahlhielm, and E. E. Freeman. The terms
of the following expire this year: A. G. Johnson, C. J.
Swendsen, G. A. Hagstrom, E. C. Westman, and William
F. Carlsson. Dr. Frank Nelson, who was elected for a
three year term resigned early last summer. It
therefore devolves upon the Society at this meeting to elect
five directors for three years, five for two years and
one for one year.
